Volunteer, get involved, or even study abroad
Programs abroad
There is a particularly wonderful thing about being at a place in your life where you have the capability to devote your entire self to a cause. And we’d love that cause to the Ayele Foundation! Whether you have a few hours here and there to help us develop curriculum, have the need to fulfill some service (maybe as part of a Boy Scout project or service hours for a class), a semester to study abroad, or even a year or two to do work similar to the Peace Corps, we have fantastic opportunities and ways to help you make the dream of a literate rural Ghana a reality.
Curriculum development
One of the most exciting parts of what we are doing as a foundation is developing new curriculum models for education in Ghana. We need creative educators who can lend their talents to that process. That development takes on two parts. The first is assessing what is already part of the Ghanian educational model so that we can be certain that our curriculum can comply with already established standards. The second is to identify the areas in which that can be enhanced. That can take on a myriad of different faces and opportunities. For many education programs, you need practical hours and we may be able to help you fulfill that in a formal capacity. However you contribute, you will be a direct part of fulfilling the mission of the Ayele Foundation.
Internships/Study Abroad
Whether you’re studying education, construction management, engineering, anthropology, peace building, computer science, pre-medicine or any other of the infinite majors available, spending time abroad in Ghana for a semester to build schools is a wonderful opportunity. Our foundation is forming partnerships with schools across the country to receive accreditation for time spent with our program. And we work hard to tailor the experience to fit your educational needs. We are certain that the time you spend in Ghana will not only change the lives of the people you touch, but give you the competitive edge you need on your resume when your time with us is complete.
Volunteer to Teach
One of the principles upon which our model is built is installing great teachers into the benefitting schools. But how do we train them? We bring students who are passionate about education and literacy to the people of Ghana and let you share that passion with them. If you are majoring in education, or even have your degree or certification to teach, we’d love to have you join us. Teaching can take on a variety of forms, though. Science, technology, health education, art… all of these things are vital to building well-educated communities. We would love to have you enrich these schools in any capacity possible. And believe us, you’ll come away with an eduction of your own.
